How much does a car driving test cost in 2026?

The price of a Category B driving test is not just the cost of driving lessons. The calculator shows an approximate total cost up to the test, including the CPP course, driving lessons, medical examination, first aid, and fees for the theory and practical driving tests.

Transmission

Driving school package

CPP course, enrollment fee, driving record card, and driving lessons. With a package, the hourly rate is generally lower than for individual lessons.

Driving lessons

The legal minimum is 20 hours. How many hours you will actually need depends on your prior knowledge, transmission type, confidence, and progress during driving.

Medical examination and first aid

The medical examination and first aid course are mandatory costs that you pay to external providers, not to the driving school.

Theoretical exam and practical driving test

You must also add the fee for the theoretical exam and the practical driving test. This part of the cost increases if you repeat the exams.

That's why the real cost of a driving test is almost never equal to just the price of the driving school package. The total amount is also affected by external costs, the number of driving lessons, and potential exam retakes.
