Why choose it

More experience before the main test.

Accompanied driving isn't just an early start - it's also a calm and guided introduction to independent driving.

More time to practice

Instead of waiting a long time for the main driving test, you start gaining real experience at 16 - in different conditions, traffic and seasons.

Fewer hours needed

With additional hours of accompanied driving, you're much better prepared before the main test than the average candidate.

More cost-effective

With fewer hours needed with an instructor and the option to drive your own vehicle, the overall cost of the process is lower.

Greater confidence

Driving in different conditions, weather and traffic situations builds real confidence, not just a feeling before the test.

Sense of safety

The accompanying driver has direct insight into the candidate's driving, which means fewer hidden mistakes and a calmer start to independent driving.

Driving your own car

With appropriate insurance, you can also practice in your own family vehicle and get used to the car you'll be using most.

Process

How to get your licence with an accompanying driver.

The process is basically the same as the classic driving test, except you start early and complete part of the driving with an accompanying driver in everyday traffic.

01

Sign up for CPP course

At the age of 16, you can sign up for the CPP course. Online or in person - the content is the same. At the same time, you can complete the medical examination and First Aid.

02

CPP exam

You take the theory exam at the Traffic Safety Agency. Registration is done at the Administrative Unit.

03

20 hours of driving with instructor

At 16, you start with practical driving lessons. You must complete at least 20 hours before the instructor gives consent and records the completed practical part for independent driving with an accompanying driver.

04

Registration of accompanying driver at Administrative Unit

With your record card and personal documents, you and the accompanying driver go to the Administrative Unit, where you officially register them as the candidate's accompanying driver.

05

Accompanied driving

From the registration of the accompanying driver onwards, you can drive independently as long as the registered accompanying driver is in the passenger seat. Driving is also possible with your own vehicle.

06

Main driving test at 18

At 18, you take the main driving test at the Administrative Unit. With all the experience from accompanied driving, you're in a significantly better starting position.
